mind cafe

today is the first monday of my mid-term break and who’d have thought? i didn’t get bored while playing board games with my friends.

in this age of technology-driven entertainment, it is heartening to see that people are still finding enjoyment in playing board games in a little place called ‘the mind cafe‘. tucked away among a row of shophouses in prinsep street, this establishment – part of a chain – offers an environment where friends can socialise over games like ‘cranium’ and ‘munchkin’ while having food as well as a free flow of drinks.

i suppose the chief selling point of mind cafe can be found in the large and interesting variety of games offered, all demanding interaction between players. i mean, it is such a simple idea, albeit a very successful one. you can’t really go wrong with putting food, drinks, people and good, clean fun together. i am willing to bet that the monthly overheads are probably not very high, other than rent (the cafe is situated on prime land). why didn’t anyone think of it before? bummer.
