marcus & sansan
first off, congratulations to marcus and sansan on their holy matrimony, and many thanks for letting me be a part of it.
i’ve attended many weddings, but i’ve never actually been involved in what goes on behind the scenes. thus this particular wedding, also my first wedding shoot, presented me with the privilege of witnessing the more intimate moments shared between the groom and the bride, as well as family and close friends. i have to admit, there were several times when the pure joy on display actually reached deep into the crevices of my heart, and i found myself smiling and laughing with the everyone else.
anyway, i am glad i’ve finished processing this batch of pictures. i fired off close to about a thousand shots for this wedding (largely thanks to my fear of ‘missing the moment’) so as you can imaging, the selection and editing process was quite a struggle. what made it bearable i guess was the knowledge that i helped to record a fragment of history as it happened. of course, this ‘history’ may be insignificant in the sight of the world but i am sure it means a lot to the newlyweds and their families.
it is said that history is written by the victors. for the couple, they won for themselves a day of celebration and rejoicing in the confirmation of their devotion to each other. i hope that they will remember their wedding day both in times of joy and in sorrow, that they might secure for themselves a lifetime of love and companionship.
