rabbi of reggae
‘king without a crown’ – matisyahu
imagine a dimly-lit lit room buzzing with anticipation. those present had come to hear the ‘rabbi of reggae rap’. they came expecting to be entertained. they would leave in wonder and amazement.
a heavily-bearded man took the stage, a broad-brimmed hat on his head. his signature look, that of a hasidic jew, has won him widespread interest – though in the novel manner. mic in hand and bopping to the reggae rhythms pounded out by his supporting band, he launched into a tongue-twisting and lung-busting bout of lyricism, transforming the room into an extension of his inner sanctum.
they took it all in.
